WENDELL ALEXIS (LL)

WENDELL ALEXIS
Wendell Alexis was born in Brookling in July 31, 1964.
From the Syracyse University he moved quickly to Europe for a long professional career.
Before playing with Valladolid in Spain and then with the shirt of Real Madrid where he won a Korac Cup but the lost the final of the championship in 1988.
In 1988 he moved to Italy and landed in Leghorn where he played for 2 season in the Libertas (1988/89 and 1989/90) also playing the famous championship finals against Philips Milan.
After the adventure in Leghorn (but remains tied to the city and fans) that he moved to Siena where he played one season with the Mens Sana (1990/91).
The following year he moved to Trapani where he remained until 1993.
In 1993 he moved to Israel where he played with Maccabi Tel Aviv, which won the league and the national cup.
In 1994 he returned to play in Italy for a brief stint with Viola Reggio Calabria.
After a brief appearence with the Levallois in France in 1996 he moved to Germany where he played with Alba Berlin until 2002. In 2002 he moved to Greece where he played with Paok Thessaloniki.
In 2003 he returned in Germany where he played with the BC Mittledentscher.
He retires in 2004.
With the shirt of Libertas ha played 72 games (including the famous championship finals) and scored 1452 points and playing 2549 minutes.
He also won a bronze medal at the World Championship in 1998 with the U.S. Team.
He's currently assistant coach of the Austin Toros.
